Deciding on a Persian Rug

When you first head out to buy a Persian rug, odds are that you are going to find yourself almost overwhelmed by the multitude of options that you are going to see before you. There are so many different sizes, materials, shapes, colors, designs, textures, and more, that it can really be a difficult process. The best way to go about this is to first determine where in your home you want to put the rug, because this will help narrow down your options a great deal. The rug should be different depending on whether you want it in the bathroom, bedroom, or living room, after all, and so you should always be sure of the planned location for the rug first.

The handmade versions however tend to be much more delicate and therefore it is generally recommended that you dry clean them only.

How to Clean Persian Rugs

Regardless of whether you bought a machine or hand made Persian rug, there are a few basic bits of information that will be valuable for you to know. For one, whenever you get a spill on the rug you need to clean it up right away before any of it soaks deeper into the carpet fibers. You also need to vacuum regularly, at least once a week, to keep dirt and debris that has settled on the top of the carpet from sinking further in. If you do not keep up with the vacuuming and maintenance of the rug the dirt will sink to the base of the carpet and will create staining and odor, both of which can be quite unpleasant.
